About NightMuse
NightMuse is a private board for planning an adult play night before it happens. Anyone can host one - no invite needed to start a board. Guests join a board only by a link the host shares. Everyone who joins lists what they are up for and the role they want, and the board lays it out for the people the host invited to read. Nothing is public - only people with the link can see a board, and each board disappears after the event.
It is a free tool. There is no directory, no feed, and no matching - people read the board and make their own approaches. Seeing what someone listed is not consent to approach or touch them; always ask first.
Words on the board
- Board
- The planning space for one event: everyone’s cards laid out in three columns. It exists only from when the host opens it until a little after the event, then it is gone.
- Card
- One thing you are up for, in your own words, with a role. Write as many as you like and reword any of them at any time.
- Giving
- You are up for doing this to or for someone - the giving side of an activity.
- Receiving
- You are up for having this done to you - the receiving side.
- Switch
- Either way, or up to the moment. It is the overlap between Giving and Receiving; any card can be set to Switch.
- Handle
- The name you show on the board - a first name or nickname, never your legal name.
- FetLife handle
- Optional, or host-required: your FetLife username, so people can recognise you off-platform. It links to your FetLife profile.
- Host
- Whoever opens the board and shares its link. Hosts approve or block guests, run the room screen, and can co-host with others.
- Guest
- Anyone who opens the link and joins. No account needed.
- Approval
- If the host requires it, your cards show on the board flagged as pending until the host approves you.
- Re-entry code
- A 4-digit code shown once when you join. Save it - it gets you back to your cards on a new device or after clearing your browser. Lost it? Your host can read it back to you.
- Room screen (TV)
- An optional big-screen view the host opens at the event, showing the board live. It has its own link, separate from the guest link.
- Rotate a link
- Generate a fresh link and instantly kill the old one - if a link leaks, rotate it.
