Terms & house rules

The short version: be an adult, place only yourself, and treat everyone the way a good party treats its guests.

What NightMuse is

NightMuse is a private board for adults to plan a night before it happens. Anyone can host one; guests join by a link the host shares. It is a planning surface, nothing more. It is not a party organiser, a matchmaker, or a guarantee of anything. Using it means you agree to these terms.

Adults only

You must be 18 or older to use NightMuse, or older where a host sets a higher minimum for their event. Every board is behind an age gate, and hosts affirm their event is adults-only before it opens. If you are under 18, you may not use this service.

Consent and self-placement

You only ever place yourself. You cannot add another person to a board, or state the role, willingness, or attendance of anyone else. What you list is a signal of interest, not a commitment or an obligation on anyone.

Consent to any activity happens between people, in person, in the moment - never through the board. Nothing you see here is permission for anything. A match on the board is a starting point for a conversation, not a yes.

What you may not do

  • Use NightMuse if you are under 18 (or under a higher minimum a host has set).
  • Place, name, or describe anyone who has not placed themselves.
  • Use a board to catalogue, track, out, harass, or doxx anyone.
  • Share the link to a board outside the people you were invited alongside, or use a link you were not given.
  • Upload or share content depicting anyone without their consent.

Content and media

Entries are text, plus a FetLife handle - optional, unless a host requires one to join their board. There are no image uploads. Keep what you write about yourself; do not write about other people.

Your data

You can remove any item you added, or leave a board entirely - which deletes your placements and your presence for good. Event data is short-lived and expires after the night. How NightMuse handles your data is set out in the privacy notice.

Hosts and moderation

The host owns their event: the guest list, who is approved, who is removed, and which details are required to join. The operator does not moderate what happens on a board - that responsibility sits with the host. The operator may disable an event or an account for violations of these terms.

No warranty, no liability

NightMuse is provided as-is. The operator is a planning-surface provider - not a party organiser, matchmaker, or guarantor - and is not responsible for what people do with the information a host chooses to share, or for anything that happens at an event.
